To ensure maximum quality and quick turnaround, here are some guidelines for preparing your files for output at Digicraft.

We make every effort to help you set up your files as appropriate for the output you desire and we invite you to call for a pre-submission telephone conference. Please note extra charges may be incurred if your file does not meet these parameters.

Notes: We can print Postscript or Image files. Please include all fonts and graphics. Banners are printed with UV inks and fine art prints with Epson UltraChrome™ inks.

Notes: Remove any Extra Channels or Saved Selections: Ensure the Channels pallet in Photoshop® lists only Red, Green and Blue. Images must be in Landscape Orientation.

File Types: Photoshop® = A native Photoshop® file (.psd), or any image that can be directly opened
in Photoshop®, i.e. .tif, .jpg, .bmp.
*Postscript = Most layout and design applications:
Quark®, PageMaker®, Illustrator®, Freehand® 8, Indesign®.

Common Problem Areas

• Some images in RGB, others in CMYK
• Missing fonts
• Unsupported font formats
• Resolution or color problems
• Missing graphics
• Original images not cleaned up

Clean Images
Make sure the images you send for output are free of dust spots and scratches. View your files at high magnification (100% - 1 image pixel equals 1 screen pixel) to check the quality of your scans. Digicraft balances and dust spots all scans; do not assume scans made by other vendors (i.e. Photo CD) are sharp, clean and color balanced - take a look.

Color Management
For critical color work it is important that YOUR monitor is accurately representing colors. Feel free to call Digicraft with questions or concerns about color management.

Supported File Formats
All are updated with latest releases. If your application is not listed, call us. There are often work-around solutions.
MAC   Photoshop®, Quark®, Pagemaker®, Illustrator®, Freehand®, Acrobat (PDF)
PC/Windows    Photoshop®, Pagemaker®, Powerpoint 97*, Excel 97*, Word 97*

*While it is possible to make poster size output from these programs, they are not recommended for critical applications. Call us for help in setting up these files for large format.
